JOB SUMMARY:
The Marketing Intern plays a key role in the marketing department, which is a “nucleus” department of the Biscuits’ operation, providing support to all revenue generating arms of the company. The Marketing Intern will assist the marketing department with all facets of its operation, including the execution of special events, theme nights, in-game entertainment, promotions, and community relations, including handling mascot and player appearances and speaking requests. He/she will also assist with the production of press releases, daily game notes, and media relations. The Marketing Intern will work closely with the marketing staff and report to the Marketing Manager.
The Montgomery Biscuits are seeking a highly motivated, creative marketing student, and are willing to work around a college class schedule. Interns will work a full-time schedule that includes regular office hours and all Biscuits’ home games. This schedule varies and includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College marketing student
- Strong written communication skills
- Detail and task oriented
- Experience in event management
- Enthusiasm and desire to learn
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Pagemaker and Dreamweaver a plus
- Strong desire to learn how to market a minor league baseball team, with a desire for advancement
START DATE: February, 2010
COMPENSATION: $1,000 per month, with approximately 11 comp days earned throughout the season. In addition, the Biscuits strive to accommodate strong performing interns with full-time positions at the conclusion of the internship.
